Baccarat is a game of chance. You have two options: either you bet on the player hand or the banker hand. The game requires a lot of skill to win, but it’s also very easy to learn. To win, the objective is to get your cards closer to nine than your opponent’s.
Baccarat is one of the most popular casino table games in Macau and Las Vegas. While baccarat isn’t as popular in Las Vegas, high-end casinos in Vegas have high-limit rooms where Asian players can wager hundreds of thousands of dollars a hand. Las Vegas baccarat profits pale in comparison to those in Macau, where baccarat is king.
Baccarat originated in the early nineteenth century in France. It was described in an 1847 publication by Charles Van-Tenac. Its earliest form is known as Baccarat a Deux Tableaux, or Baccarat Banque. There are several variations, including Baccarat Chemin de Fer.
In baccarat, the banker shows an eight or nine. If the two players are tied, the banker must stand. Otherwise, the player must make the winning hand: a hand of eight or nine or a five-card hand with an eight or nine. This is a fairly straightforward game, and no special skills are required to play the game.
